Why Crossroads?

There is certainly no shortage of analogies for yoga and life. The highs and the lows. The joys and the challenges. The obstacles and the flaws and the “try, try again.”

Not to mention the many, many paths (and, dare we say, crossroads) our lives take us on to get to where we are, right now.

Life’s a journey. And so is yoga.

No matter where you are in your practice—whether you’re just starting, or a seasoned yogi, or fall somewhere in between—you’ve come to the right place.

Our goal is to help you reach your goals, whether they’re fitness-based, general health-based, mind/body-based… or something else. If you’re a beginner, you may feel some hesitancy because you’ve never done yoga before— it “looks hard” and intimidating BUT someone in your orbit has recommended it to you to help with (insert your challenge here). We are here to help guide everyone—all ages and stages—with a variety of classes that true beginners will enjoy.

Two women practicing yoga, lying on their backs with foam rollers under their necks and wearing eye masks, on mats with blankets around them.

For those of you with years of yoga experience under your belt, you may just want a safe space with inspiring teachers where you can hone your practice. Most of our more challenging classes offer up plenty of advanced and intermediate pose options, so you can challenge yourself to your heart’s content.

Crossroad Yoga’s logo “mascot” is an eight-petal lotus (to represent the eight limbs of yoga—the physical asanas, or poses, represent just one of those). And while we recognize that the lotus is rather hackneyed as far as yoga studio logos go, it’s the story of the lotus flower, summarized below, that resonates and what we want to bring forth within our local community…

Talk about journeys! The lotus roots in mud, deep beneath a mucky body of water. As it struggles upward, towards the light it can’t yet see, it pushes through the dirt and weeds until it reaches the surface. There it finally finds the sun and begins to bloom, one petal at a time.

That’s life. You may start out in mud, or journey through darkness at times, but you no doubt learn—and grow—along the way.

And that’s also yoga, which at its core, really is about life… and growth.

It is our hope that our studio and incredible instructors will help you navigate your current journey of life and yoga, no matter where you are. We are a true collaboration of some of the most compassionate, thoughtful, and experienced instructors in the area.

Let us help you bloom.
